Great day on the water despite super‑low tides, high pressure, and clear blue skies. My repeat clients downsized their lure selection, and we targeted potholes in the grass flats. The adjustments paid off, we had a few personal bests on this trip, including a big trout weighing 8 lbs. We were able to get a picture of her on the Bogas; the boat was too far away for an accurate length, but she was pushing the 30" mark. The big red measured right at 28" and weighed 9.4 lbs. Excellent wading by the crew, and I’m looking forward to having them back next month.

2 man wade fishing day trip

Had two guys book a full‑day wade‑fishing trip for the second time. We decided to give Nueces Bay a shot after a strong front pushed through, and one of my clients wanted to explore some new water. The move paid off — we caught several tournament‑quality reds along with a handful of trout in the 6–8 lb range. Great trip, and big thanks to my repeat clients for another solid day on the water.

5/25/25 - Nueces bay wade

Had a group from San Antonio that came down for a day of wade fishing.  Took us a while to find some bait, but once we found bait the trout bite was on fire during the major feeding period. All fish were caught on MirrorLure lil johns in the Molting & Golden Bream fishing  a grassy bottom in the 2 - 4 ft of water.

Black Drum

Made a quick wade with the boys close to the house since winds are cranking out of the south at  30+ mph.  Got them a quart of live shrimp, and they went to town throwing live shrimp under popping corks.  Got into a school of black drum and found a few reds mixed in the group. Decided to keep a few for the frying pan.

Had a buddy want to bring his kids down to do an afternoon trip while in the area for a sporting event.  Went out and fished the late minor & loaded up with 2 limits of reds & a few trout 5 minutes from the boat ramp. Fish were all caught on Lil johns & Down South Lures.

1/8/25 - Morning Wade 

Had a returning group of waders that were looking to target big trout. We weren't able to get onto the big trout but did find a big mess of reds in the 24" - 32" range. Bite started prior to the major feeding & was on fire for almost 45 minutes. All fish were caught on Mirro Lil Johns, Coastal Brew baits & Down South Lures.

<div>Met my College Station (whoop) clients at Conn Brown boat ramp in Aransas Pass, Tx. Made a little trip to Shamrock Island in Corpus Christi bay. Picked up a few decent trout and then had 2 boats come up on us. Guys asked to go fornsome reds so we hopped over to Pink Shack Cove where it was non stop red action with a few bonus flounder. 5/28/24 PM trip - Mesquite / Ayres Bay

Met group at the St. Charles Bay boat ramp in Rockport, Texas. We made a little run to Mesquite Bay where we started off the afternoon in Bray Cove. Lots of bait present in Bray but no size to the fish. We continued working the shorelines up towards Ayres Dugout where we started seeing better fish & released a few oversize trout with the biggest one going 25". Customers kept a few for dinner.

Launched out of Conn Brown in Aransas Pass,Tx.  Had a SE wind of about 18-20 mph with gusts up to 30. Founds lots of bait along the Lydia Ann channel west shoreline. Live croaker was the ticket to a fun filled day on the water.

5/7/24 ~ AM Wade

<div>Met my group at Goose Island State park in Rockport, Tx. This group asked if we could fish St Charles bay so thats what we did. We got on the water 6:15 amd found lots of bait stacked on a flat. When the moonrise hit at 6:30 it was non stop action till the end of the munor bite at 8 am. We would have had a 3 man limite of trout but with the new regulations my guys were 1 trout ahort. Caught a few overs with the biggest going 26". All fish were caught on the Lil John soft plastics.&nbsp;</div>

4/29/24- Ingleside

<div>Launched out oof Conn Brown Boat ramp in Aransas Pass, Texas. Had a father &amp; son that wanted to learn some new areas around Ingleside where they are in the process of closing on a home. Started off around Cooks Island, lots of bait and a lot of small trout. Then we just worked our way down the La Quinta channel fishing potholes.&nbsp;</div>

4/27/24 - Aransas Pass

<div>Met the group at Cove Harbor Boat ramp in Rockport, Texas. Offered this group a better day due to the strong winds but they said they wanted to fish. So, I decided to stay close, bounced around and found protected shorelines that produced lots of reds and a few drum. The Texas Rattler jig head &amp; the watermelon Lil john was a deadly combo for us.</div>

3/30/24 - Estes Flats

Launched out of Cove Harbor South in Rockport, Tx. With strong winds we decided to stay close and target Estes Flats, we headed over to the California Hole where we found bait up against the shoreline. Throwing popping corks and live shrimp were the key.

3/29/24 - Corpus Christi Bay

Launched out of Conn Brown Harbor in Aransas Pass, Tx.  Wind was blowing 15-25 mph w/ gusts to 35+ so we decided to stay in a protected area targeting shallow grass fishing sand pockets along the La Quinta Channel.  With the new trout limit now (3) fish in the 15-20" range, we had no issues catching a 2 man limit along with good healthy 25" trout. All fish were caught on popping corks w/ live shrimp. 

Met clients at Conn Brown Harbor in Aransas Pass, Tx. Started fishing the 4 spoil islands off the ICW. Throwing popping corks & live shrimp were the ticket to picking up a few nice Redfish. We then moved across the bay to the California Hole. Lots of bait starting to show, picked up a handful of keeper trout.

Met group of waders at Marker 37 in Corpus Christi, Tx.  We started our morning off in Nighthawk Bay wading around the spoil islands in 2-3' water throwing smaller profile plastics. Lots of 18-23" Redfish with some mixed drum in this area.

3/15/24 - Wading Aransas Bay

Picked up some spring breakers from a house in Palm Harbor in Rockport, Tx. We made a short run to mud island where we found lots of bait working. We decided to check it out & it did not disappoint. Throwing shrimp under popping corks and fish bites w/sardines had the redfish going crazy. Moved a few times & at the major afternoon feeding, the guys found great trout on the backside of Allyn's Bight throwing plastics.

3/8/24 - Wading Mesquite Bay

Met group at Goose Island boat ramp in Rockport, Tx. We headed over to Mesquite bay and started on the 3rd Chain of Islands. Little bait in area & lots of dink trout. We decided to make a run across to Bray Cove, where we found lots of bait and some good quality fish. Throwing smaller profile plastics was the key in the darker colors.

Met up with some spring breakers at the Cove Harbor dock in Rockport, Tx for fun filled day of wade fishing. We fished deeper grass edges off San Jose Island and potholes, we threw smaller profile plastics & ended the day w/ 4 limits of trout & 3 reds.
